Careers Education during a pandemic: What Works?

So you’re finding fewer opportunities for engagement with employers and training providers due to the COVID-19 pandemic.  There are a range of ways in which you can still provide access for students to employers and employer experience, careers Education during a pandemic could include:

  • Employer Encounters via virtual platforms
  • Asking employers to film or take photos of their workplace
  • Virtual work experience
  • Careers guidance via telephone, use of virtual technology
  • Use of Microsoft or Google forms
  • Virtual college tours (however college visits will be able to happen soon, subject to testing)
  • Certificates/rewards to drive attendance
  • Short (and fun) group interventions
  • Catch up/distance learning opportunities
  • Pupil and or Parent drop-in sessions
  • Introduction presentations and videos – pre-session information
